About this event
Globally, women’s earnings are, on average, 24 percent less than men’s, and even in developed countries —where policies are increasingly supportive of female employment— women on average earn just half as much income as men over their lifetimes. The contrast is even starker in developing countries. How can we use innovation to benefit women financially and economically around the world?
This April 29-30, 2017 at General Assembly, the Singapore Committee for UN Women and AngelHack are bringing back UNited We Hack. In 2017, we will look into barriers preventing female entrepreneurship, and we want you to take up the 2-day challenge! Health, Safety, Economic Empowerment, and Culture – Take your pick and hack a solution. This year we’re adding on more exciting events including a General Assembly masterclass session, and a screening of the award-winning documentary CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap.
Haven’t been to a hackathon? Not quite there yet but keen to try? Coming solo and need a team? We welcome all skill levels, so flex your fingers and pick your brains with us!
Come along, bring a friend or two, and pave #techforgood!
