https://github.com/nwiegand1/AngelHacks ##Inspiration Inspired by the poor accessibility of therapists and psychaistrists and the increase in mental health issues both major and minor, as well as the lack of a middle ground between help options, we built this Amazon alexa bot that mimics talking to a real human and can remind you of goals you set. Existing options for help include appointments with a professional which requires foresight and no on demand help. Another option is immediate help text and calling services which are very expensive. SMART Therapy is in a market untouched providing a low cost human like experience to help users problem solve. ##What it does ##Built with Python, Flask, Amazon Alexa Skill Set ##Challenges Figuring out what the bot should ask the user and the sequence of questions. ##Accomplishments Created a working Alexa skill to guide users through the SMART problem solving technique to help users understand their feelings and take action accordingly. ##Learned I learned about creating option trees and about chat bots. I also learned more using python, flask, and ngrok. ##What's Next Further capability includes a greater code base to account for different user responses
