libstep is a lightweight java library for sequencing music. You describe your song structure and melody by composing existing "plugs", or by creating new ones. The resulting binary is a program that will act as a midi sequencer in your performances and play your songs. When you build your own plugs, you can for example read midi-controllers to change parameters or active parts of the song, or use generative algorithms to add variation to the music.
