@bryanchen Yes we have considered this! There could very well be more synergies with IOT devices in the future, but in the short run the most cost effective and quickest way-to-market would be to integrate the software features directly within the Grab app and use the front facing camera omnipresent on smartphones today.

@arunaudbonzom (Reply here since it exceeds the text limit) We think that it is precisely because of Grab's great ecosystem and economies of scale that this solution will be easily scale-able. In the past, there have been solutions that have tried to explore fatigue detection technologies through a vehicle dash-camera or through wear-ables, both proving to be less than ideal. We think that when you integrate this within the grab app, most grab drivers would not have to do anything out of ordinary since many of them actually place their phones within eye level on their dashboard. Bear in mind that this is a solution developed for Grab, and our primary audience are grab drivers, not truck drivers, although opening up the feature to the public/enteprises could very well be a feasible solution in the long run!:)
