app automatically pings user based on average time it takes them to get home, if they don't answer or indicate something is wrong app will alert friends/family that something may be worng or 911 if they cant be reached. is it for walking only? if driving home will app automatically get traffic update or links to maps app like google or waze?

Messaging with friend/family on a daily basis to confirm you get home safely. Possibility to have it escalate to 911 if you don't confirm in short time window.

Like the notion of helping women feel like they have a companion to check in with. How do you manage false-alarms?

I like the dead man's switch idea for this up -- I wonder if would cause too many false positives to 911. The independence idea seems great too.
