CarToGo allows Hertz to grow its rental fleet, without the capital investment of buying cars, by leveraging the shared economy. Much like Airbnb, CarToGo allows individuals to register their cars along with when it will be available. People needing a car can then find these cars and rent them, via CarToGo. Hertz gets to leverage its existing investment in a vast network of local offices, to support this service - the offices do one time verification of insurance, driver’s licenses etc. for both renters and rentees. Hertz also uses its marketing dollars to publicize the service. Unlike our competitor GetAround, we integrate the Mojio hardware into the cars in our fleet. This provides us a distinct advantage, as our owners get peace of mind knowing they can track their cars location and see how it is being driven, right from CarToGo. Also CarToGo leverages Mojios features like measuring mileage and gas consumed by the renter, making calculating the final bill a breeze.
