FixMtaa is a project to help people use twitter for reporting common societal problems such as floods,blackouts,potholes and broken street lights to the appropriate authority. Users locate problems and tweet using the hashtag #fixmtaa without worrying about the correct authority to report it to. Using machine learning algorithms, FixMtaa locates the problem location and type and sends a report to the relevant authority, by email, twitter or sms. Will be open sourced after the Hackathon so that the community can aid in development.
