About

Problem : How well do you know the streets of your city? Because most people don’t know them at all. Most bikers know every hill, pothole and bike lane in their city all too well. Solution: We are creating a community that commemorates that moment after completing a challenging ride, provides a brand new experience of your city every time, and invites you to share your passion, your freedom, and your victories. Business model: This is a pet project meant as a self-sustaining service to the community. The business will generate revenue through AD placement on the website. We will charge companies a standard 25 cent per click rate to be on our site. Businesses that we will target will be in the biking industry: ie. parts, accessories, and supplements. Using Austin as an example, the biking industry is 50,000 strong. Segmenting the market to our target audience it begins to be narrowed down to 25,000. Taking modest 1% of the market leaves us 250 users in year one. An average click through rate being 10% that leaves us 25 clicks per month equaling $6.25(.25 *25) per month. Cost per month will be around $10, leaving us with a $3.75 loss. After the second year we expect the growth rate to be 2% leaving us with 500 new users at the same CTR and accounting for an increase in CPC of 50 cents. We stand to make $25 per month, thus leaving us a net profit of $15 per month. Marketing: We will work in each market to secure sponsorships with local businesses to drive traffic to our website. Most of the marketing will revolve around word of mouth and social media hits. Included will be blogs, Facebook, twitter, and local biking websites such as biking ATX. Alongside these will be gorilla advertising for little or no cost, ie. chalk art, stickers and pictures with our tagline. Competition: Main competition is any touring companies, free events, and other social media platforms that take away users or allow them to interact with each other in a social fitness arena.
