Testing your app via the UI is a good thing. at the end of the day, this is exactly how your real users are going to consume the great functionality your app offers. But UI tests are also very expensive to develop and maintain, and are very slow to execute. On the other hand, API testing isn't the "real thing", but it is much cheaper and faster. Can we combine the best of these two separate worlds? I believe we can. The idea in this project is to treat API testing is yet another client platform. So just like you test your app via the UI using Chrome web browser running on a Windows 10 box, or via native iOS app running on iPhone 7, you can also run your tests against the API layer of the app. The whole secret is how to allow the tester to combine all these platforms in smartest way possible, and create optimized test suites.
