AngelHack Contest Rules – Summary
AngelHack’s are monstrously large hackathons, which we organize to inspire entrepreneurship and introduce developers to new technologies and how to use them. We see hackathons as building a foundation for the startups of tomorrow; ideas and strong technical talent. That’s why we built the AngelHack Accelerator, so teams with a bigger vision can take their idea all the way from hack to start-up.
The AngelHack Competition rules below are the same around the world and allow everyone at every location an equal opportunity for success. If you follow the rules then you are eligible for the grand prize, acceptance into the AngelHack Accelerator. That said, if winning the competition is of no interest to you, then be a little honey badger ☺
Fresh Code
We all start coding at the same time — 1pm local time. Prior to this time you may work on your design, logo, wireframes, idea validation, make digital mockups, you name it. But no coding can be done beforehand. This allows you to spend your time at AngelHack doing what you love best — HACKING :)
It’s okay to Hack!
Feel free to use any tools, tricks, gems, frameworks, or workarounds you’ve discovered over the years to help you build quicker. Use any language, hosting service, etc. you please
Use API’s
For AngelHack London you are encouraged to utilize one of our sponsored API’s or hosting services in your hack. It is important to note that sponsors will be providing spot prizes throughout the weekend and are more likely to give them to those projects that use their products.
Ownership and IP
Teams have full ownership of everything they build at our events and are free to do with it as they wish.
Submissions
Each hack will have a unique hackathon.io page and each team must submit their project by 1pm on Sunday.
Have fun
It’s a hackathon! Use whatever languages or hacks you have in your arsenal. Show us hardware. Show us new concepts. Show us anything you’d like.
