Not sure you will be able to pull people away from existing social networks and make your product sticky as it is. Is there a way of gaining traction on existing social media platforms first?

People already rate things on Facebook... amazon, yelp, eBay and lots of other places each in their own vertical. However none of these platforms offer you the input of your friends whose opinion you trust and vice versa.
