Great job - definitely something I would use in the city. I'd encourage you to think about including alternate modes of transportation besides walking. The demo routes were quite long and seemed unlikely that people would actually take those routes without incorporating some forms of public transportation.

Community feedback is hard without incentive. Expand data sets used to not rely on user generated data as much. User generated data might be biased - people who feel unsafe are more prone to use the app.
