The responses have been coming through the school parents’ FB groups and a lot of them are interested in Playdate, especially if we properly address the safety concerns. There have been more responses from year 5 parents than from year 1, with 2 out of the 3 single parents being really interested. This indicates that as kids get older, their parents are more willing for them to be cared for by friends. Would love to get more guidance from the mentors, judges or someone at BlueChilli. Definitely think it has potential

I wonder what the magic ratio would be between parents offering to look after and parents needing care. From my perspective there would be more people requesting help than people offering to care for other kids. It might depend on the age - I think the sweet spot would be 5+ years as it's hard to care for very young kids (and this is often the age where parents need help because they are not in full time school yet). Suggest you focus on a very specific use case to get started with, for example kids aged 5-15 during school holidays in location x.

I'd love a platform like this to use, would be good to see how this would plug in with facebook or existing community forums. i think you would need some kind of mechanism for feedback or ratings. what is the incentive for someone to offer their availability? if they are obliged to take other peoples kids during the specified time, it limits ones own flexibility with own kids.

All working parents have been in this position - it's a great problem to be working to solve. Would be great to think through how you will get enough available coverage in early days to make it effective for those seeking urgent care. Great work!
