Our team developed a safety application named Angela. For example, imagine yourself going out on a date with someone you met online. During this event, Angela, a virtual angel and friend, checks if everything is going well with you, and expects a safety password as an answer. If you receive the notification and don't insert this password, Angela gets worried and reaches out more frequently. When Angela identifies you are in a dangerous situation, she triggers a message for your selected friends via an email and/or SMS, with your location and any other relevant data about your date that will help you. The team that created the Angela is formed by five women. The idea came up because we know that women suffer many forms of violence and are very vulnerable, especially in Brazil, where we live. Angela was not meant only for women! For example, parents can be relaxed about their children if they get Angela installed on their cell phones. Technical info: we used Swift, PHP and MySQL.
