About

1 in 10 Singaporeans above the age of 60 has dementia, and more than 9.9 million new cases of dementia are found every year globally - making dementia a 'trillion dollar disease' by 2018. Cognitive stimulation therapy has been shown to increase cognition and the quality of life of dementia patients greatly. However, access to this therapy can be difficult for those who fall through the cracks of current therapy delivery channels, such as dementia patients who suffer from young onset dementia, who face social stigma, or who are home-bound and cannot gain access to or afford the expensive and scarce private therapists. Memento hopes to change that by empowering caregivers and volunteers with easy-to-use tools to conduct simple cognitive stimulation games or activities, and simultaneously track the condition of dementia patients in the comfort of their own homes.
