Not unique. Would need devices at homes which would restrict short medium term growth. Did not see significant use of API's.

I dislike connected devices ideas. The industry lacks a security infrastructure to make this stuff work properly. But I love the Raspberry Pi play and some madman will eventually get the app store for home devices up and running.

Relying on third party developers to join a platform because it would be nice for users rarely works, unfortunately.
