Join the ProcessMaker I/O hackathon which runs from September 20th to October 19th, 2017 at 11:59 PT. Hack your way between the ProcessMaker I/O Workflow Microservices API and the third party app(s) of your choice, create a ProcessMaker I/O add-on, build an interesting workflow, or use the ProcessMaker I/O API in a way we haven’t seen before.

Create as many “hacks” as you’d like, and increase your odds of winning. However, you can only win up to one prize.

Eligibility: Contest (herein referred to as the “Hackathon” or “contest”) is open only to those who sign up at the online sweepstakes page, submit a completed hackathon project in accordance with the rules and guidelines and who are 18 years old as of the date of entry. The “Hackathon” is open to candidates worldwide, but is void where prohibited by law. Employees of ProcessMaker (the “Sponsor”) their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate in the Hackathon. The Hackathon is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

Agreement to Rules: By participating, you agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these Rules, and you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements set forth herein. In addition, you agree to accept the decisions of ProcessMaker, as final and binding as it relates to the content and Hackathon contest. The Hackathon is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

Hackathon Period: Entries will be accepted September 20, 2017 through October 20, 2017 and must be submitted by no later than 12:00 P.M. EST on October 20, 2017.

How to Enter: The Contest must be entered by obtaining an API key from ProcessMaker via this webpage: The contest participant will then complete the task of integrating the ProcessMaker Workflow Microservices API and the third party app(s) of their choice, create a ProcessMaker I/O add-on, build an interesting workflow, or use the ProcessMaker I/O API in a way the ProcessMaker team hasn’t seen before. Copying another participant’s completed or partially completed project is strictly prohibited.

Upon completion of the project, participant must complete the following:

Post your project on your Github account with a readme file explaining your integration/hack Make a video (maximum 3 minutes) in youtube or vimeo explaining your hack/integration project Send an email to with: the link to your Github project, and a link to the explainer video The entry must fulfill all Hackathon requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize. Entries that are not complete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of ProcessMaker. Participants may create and submit as many projects as they would like. However, participants can only win up to one prize. If a participant uses fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules, their submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of ProcessMaker.

Both Teams and Individuals are welcome to participate. However, teams will still only register one name as the participant and receive one prize.

The judging panel will consist of experts in the field of open source, open source development, and workflow software from various industries. The final decision of the judging panel will be subjective based on what they think is the most interesting integration.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to participants selected by the judges panel. Actual/appraised value may differ at time of prize award. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by the Sponsor.

Winners in the United States will receive:

1st Place - iPhone X - $999 value 2nd Place - Amazon Alexa - $179 value 3rd Place - Raspberry Pi Kit - $112 value 4th Place - Raspberry Pi Kit - $112 value If the winner is in the USA, they will receive their prize by either UPS or Fedex.

Winners located outside of the United States will receive:

1st Place: $1,000, 2nd Place: $179 3rd and 4th Place: $112 Winners residing outside the United States of America wins will receive the cash prize payment ONLY by PayPal or Bitcoin.

Besides the top four place winners, there will also be additional prizes for participants that create integrations using the following technologies:

No cash or other prize substitution permitted except at Sponsor's discretion. The prize is nontransferable. Any and all prize related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by winners is permitted. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for ProcessMaker to use winner's name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

All US participants will receive a ProcessMaker T-shirt by mail if they comply with all the steps described.

All participants will have their hack/integration and name listed on the ProcessMaker website for 1 month if they have complied with all the steps described.

Prizes will not be divided, split, or duplicated to accommodate team entries.

Odds: The odds of winning are fully subjective and will be determined by the Sponsor. No participant may challenge the decision of the Sponsor. Rulings of the Sponsor are final.

Winner selection and notification: Sponsor will contact winners on Friday, October 20, 2017. Sponsor will announce the winners publicly on the main stage at All Things Open in Raleigh on October 23rd. Sponsor will selectively invite some of the winners to co-present in their Technology session as a co-panelist either in person or by a video conferencing platform.

Winner(s) will need to respond within 24 hours to still be eligible for the prize and to be considered as a possible candidate to be a co-presenter at All Things Open. In his/her response, the winner should state whether they would like to co-present their solution at All Things Open either virtually by a video conferencing platform chosen by ProcessMaker or in person in Raleigh, North Carolina. To present in person, the participant will be responsible for his/her transportation to and hotel arrangements in Raleigh, North Carolina. ProcessMaker will pay registration fees for anyone who is a winner of the hackathon and would like to present live at All Things Open.

ProcessMaker shall have no liability for a winner's failure to respond. If the selected winner fails to respond within allotted response window, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.

The receipt by winner of the prize offered in this Contest is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal and state laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY ANY WINNER (AT SPONSOR'S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN SUCH WINNER'S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE CONTEST AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.

Rights Granted by you: By entering this content you understand that ProcessMaker, anyone acting on behalf of ProcessMaker, or its respective licensees, successors and assigns will have the right, where permitted by law, without any further notice, review or consent to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter in perpetuity and throughout the World, your entry, including, without limitation, the entry and winner's name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image or statements about the Contest, and biographical information as news, publicity or information and for trade, advertising, public relations and promotional purposes without any further compensation.

Terms: ProcessMaker reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest should (in its sole discretion) a virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Contest. In such case, ProcessMaker may select the recipients from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by ProcessMaker. ProcessMaker reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the ProcessMaker or website or violates these Terms & Conditions.

ProcessMaker has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the Contest, to void submissions for any reason, including, but not limited to; fraud, invalid submissions, copyright infringement or theft.

Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, ProcessMaker reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Disputes: THIS CONTEST IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF The United States of America AND the state of North Carolina, WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES. As a condition of participating in this Contest, participant agrees that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in North Carolina having jurisdiction.
