About

LinkIt Smart 7688 Duo is heart of the project, it is connected to internet via Wi-Fi connection. Glass Breaking sensor, USB Web camera, PIR motion sensor (optional if openCV/Motion utility not supported), buzzer, reed switch based magnetic door open/close sensor, user input buttons and status LEDs will be connected to LinkIt Smart 7688 Duo. USB Web cam will be used to capture the pictures if any unwanted movement is detected by means of openCV/Motion utility/PIR Motion Sensor. Glass breaking Sensor used for detect glass break. Reed Switch based magnetic door open/close sensor will be used to detect open door. User input buttons will be used for Arm the system when user leaves the home and disarm the system when user reaches home. Arm/disarm of the system can be also done from smartphone application. When any unwanted event triggered, LinkIt one sends real time information of the sensor events with picture taken by webcam to the smartphone application via mqtt over Wi-Fi. (yes, we have used mqtt to transfer jpg images with small size using free broker, and high quality images with large size using our own mqtt broker hosted on Amazon AWS web services). we will use python and shell scripting for implementation of this project on LinkIt Smart 7688 Duo, and Processing for Android will be used for smart phone application development.
